Description Salary: £32,490 - £36,870 per annum Grade D 12 Months Fixed Term Contract (2 posts) 37 Hours per Week We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as an Import Surveillance Officer. The role will involve working at Thurrock’s Ports and Border points to ensure unsafe items do not enter the UK and that key technical documentation relating to those goods is provided. You will play a key role in delivering a high profile national project in this fast paced team. You should be a highly motivated individual and keen to learn with the ability to read, understand and interpret complex information such as relevant legislation and test certificates. Excellent attention to detail, computer literate especially in Excel and online databases and a great written communicator. You should be able to organise your own workload with competing priorities and be a strong team player. Some manual handling is required in this job role and working out on site. You will have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade A-C, 4-9). You will hold a full manual driving licence. No previous experience is required as full training will be given although an understanding of product safety and the consumer protection framework would be advantageous.
