Rikama Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Lewisham to join their team in January 2025.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children throughout the entire school, including pupils with SEN. You will work closely with an experienced team to provide personalised care and education to a range of children, enabling them to thrive and grow.
Other duties include lunchtime supervision, behaviour management support, assisting with activity and lesson planning, and assisting with administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with the student, teachers, and CAMHs to implement a personalised Safety Plan.
2. Implement strategies within the plan to support the student in managing emotions and behaviour, maintaining focus, and completing tasks in the classroom.
3. Discreetly provide in-the-moment support to the student during class time as needed.
4. Document progress and collaborate with the team to adjust the plan as needed.
5. Maintain a positive and encouraging relationship with the student.
6. Uphold the school's professional code of conduct and confidentiality policies.
Qualifications:
1. Experience working with vulnerable adolescents in an educational or support setting.
2. Strong understanding of self-regulation strategies.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to build rapport and trust with vulnerable students.
5. Calm and patient demeanor with a positive and encouraging attitude.
6. Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility and confidentiality.
7. Ability to observe and document behaviours accurately.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £12.83-£14.62 per hour
