Finance Officer
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, well-organised and proactive Finance Officer to join the staff of our unique, friendly and highly regarded IAPS School from March 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career within a busy and supportive school administrative department.
You will take on key responsibilities in managing the purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger and overseeing payroll, pensions and petty cash. This will include processing invoices, making payments and maintaining accurate accounts in line with financial procedures. You will also provide essential financial and administrative support alongside the Bursar, helping to ensure that financial operations are efficient, compliant, and effectively managed.
We are looking for an individual who is highly organised with a strong background in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate will hold a qualification in finance or accounting, although previous relevant experience may substitute. You should possess a solid understanding of bookkeeping with experience in financial controls. Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel is essential for this role, as is a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to work well both independently and as part of a team. The role requires a high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
The hours of the role are 8.30am-4.30pm year-round with 30 days’ annual leave per annum, Bank Holidays and Christmas closure are in addition to this entitlement.
