My client, t/o c. £120m, is an ambitious fast-growing Industrial Services company with depot sites across the UK plus recent expansion into overseas markets. Reporting directly to the CFO with regular interface to the Board and Senior Management Team, this new position of Group Financial Controller has been created to strengthen the overall Finance function in support of the Group’s successful growth strategy. The Group FC will head up the Central Finance function based at the main Operations hub in Stoke-on-Trent (just off M6) as well as managing Accounts staff at multiple sites across the UK. Key responsibilities/challenges will include: Manage and develop a first-class Finance team. Ensure the production of timely and robust Group financial reporting and consolidated Management accounts, automating the process as much as possible. Management and oversight of Year end Statutory Accounts consolidation process for all group entities. Manage the timetable and interaction with Auditors. Develop and strengthen financial systems, processes and controls within the newly implemented ERP system with an ongoing focus on driving continuous improvements. Streamline business processes to reduce transaction processing time, including develop an efficient Shared Services function. Document and develop Group Accounting Policies and Procedures. Group Cashflow and Working Capital Management, including Bank covenant monitoring and reporting. Treasury Management. Production of Annual Budgets and quarterly Forecasts. Manage and integrate new Acquisitions/M&A activity from a financial and management reporting perspective. Overall, to support the CFO as his “right hand” in Finance to establish a high-quality Accounts function which will facilitate and support the Group’s exciting growth strategy. Person Profile : High calibre graduate Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with minimum 5 years PQE. Confident and assured Finance professional who has progressed their career to date within a relevant multi-site Group Reporting business environment. Technically strong allied to well-developed commercial/business understanding. Strong ERP Systems development experience. Strong Excel skills. Experience of consolidation and financial analysis with significant inter-company transactions. Proven strong Management skills and Stakeholder liaison experience. Highly organised and capable of working to tight deadlines. Ambitious to “make your mark” and develop your career in this key new Senior Management role.
