Shape the Future of Critical Defence Infrastructure | £1bn Framework
As our Head of Sustainability, you will lead the development and implementation of our comprehensive sustainability strategy, ensuring environmental excellence across all our operations. This transformational role provides an opportunity for the Framework to set new benchmarks in delivering sustainable infrastructure assets that support our client's net zero targets. You will drive a step change in sustainable engineering and construction approaches, enabling performance improvements through innovative infrastructure solutions. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve ambitious sustainability goals.
Direct reports: At least one direct report and likely management of other individuals delivering specific work streams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Developing and implementing an innovative sustainability strategy aligned with net-zero targets
2. Embedding sustainability throughout our Framework processes, systems and operational model
3. Coordinating environmental assessments and ensuring regulatory compliance
4. Fostering partnerships with stakeholders and driving cultural change
5. Managing performance against strategy sustainability KPIs and environmental objectives
6. Supporting project teams in delivering sustainable solutions
7. Identifying opportunities for innovation and environmental enhancement
Essential Experience and Qualifications
1. Chartered Environmental Engineer, Architect or equivalent qualification
2. Extensive experience in environmental planning, design and construction of major infrastructure programmes within the UK
3. Proven track record in managing complex infrastructure projects (£100M+)
4. Comprehensive understanding of UK and EU environmental regulatory
