Job summary A part time position has arisen for a Specialist Physiotherapist with an interest in Stroke and General Rehabilitation to join our enthusiastic multidisciplinary team at Edgware Community Hospital on Edgware Community Rehabilitation Unit (ECRU). ECRU has 20 beds with 14 designated beds for stroke patient care and 6 beds open to general rehabilitation. It is a beautiful setting with magnificent potential to enable top quality patient and staff experience. We are looking for a Band 6 physiotherapist who has the passion for excellence in patient care and experience within rehabilitation (stroke and general) as well as the core areas of a band 5. We would like to attract applicants with high levels of communication and have a flexible approach to problem solving. You will be expected to be professional, efficient in time and people management and effective in your approach. Working days may include weekends. You will work collaboratively with the therapy team leads and other highly skilled therapy staff to achieve excellence. You will be responsible for assisting in education and management of junior staff and students with senior support. You will have the opportunity to influence the delivery of our service through service evaluation and audits and have access to training opportunities and are encouraged to take up postgraduate education in your field of speciality. Main duties of the job To be an active member of the clinical team, providing a comprehensive therapy service to residents of Barnet referred into the service. To work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation. To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehab outcomes and timely, coordinated discharge planning To fully support initiatives to reduce length of stay, including key working. To work flexibly, being willing to provide support on other intermediate care wards when necessary. To hold responsibility for own caseload, working with and without direct supervision.
