Main duties of the job
The PMO Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the Trust's productivity and efficiency programmes. This role involves developing and maintaining a robust risk-based governance framework and effective processes for strategically significant projects. The PMO Lead will support the delivery of the Trust's strategic priorities, including financial sustainability, patient care, and staff protection.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or with demonstrable equivalent experience
* Project Management qualification or equivalent experience e.g. Prince2, Managing Successful Projects or similar
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Educated to Masters or Post Graduate degree level or equivalent professional qualification
Experience
* Significant experience of a programme management function within a public sector environment
* Experience of data for improvement and the use of statistical process control charts to illustrate performance over time
* Proven experience of leading on a quality and cost agenda and ensuring service accountability
* Experience of leading and developing a specialist team in a challenging environment involving multiple stakeholders
* Demonstrable track record of managing change in a complex organisation.
* Experience of facilitating and supporting investigations into risk management issues.
* Proven track record of developing policies or procedures and providing high quality reports to senior level stakeholders
* Experience of communicating complex information appropriately to varying levels of the organisation.
* Experience of working with clinical and operational colleagues
* Experience of working to tight deadlines
* Previous experience of working in an Acute Healthcare environment.
* Experience of health and/or social care information systems
* Trained in root cause analysis techniques
* Experience of supporting multiple complex projects with co-dependencies and able to provide examples of when demonstrable benefits were delivered
* Experience of delivering teaching or training to colleagues of varying seniority
Knowledge
* Working knowledge of clinical settings at a senior level in a large hospital organisation
* Understanding of patient pathways and how clinical services are organised
* A good understanding of the requirements placed on NHS hospitals to improve quality, safety and costs and of the regulatory and financial environment in which NHS providers operate.
* Thorough understanding of governance and ability to articulate the importance of compliance and risks of non-compliance
Skills
* Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to provide examples of anticipating and mitigating challenges and risks, and of actions taken to assure delivery
* Able to express subject matter expertise confidently and translate it for others.
* Numerate, with proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint or equivalents
* Able to demonstrate a high level of self-awareness and a commitment to self-development.
* Ability to work flexibly and be adaptable to change.
