As the People Manager for Temporary Staffing & Project Lead, you will be part of the Senior Management People Team which will require you to contribute to and manage specific projects related to Temporary Staffing (inc. working in collaboration with NHS Professionals (NHSP) and People Team colleagues on delivering the new contact, implementing Patchwork and Doctors Direct) and Recruitment Agencies to support the People, Workforce and OD strategies.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to provide expert, specialist advice across a range of areas, drawing upon your deep knowledge and experience. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong, effective communication and collaborative relationships with colleagues within the People Team, clinicians, and other staff members, ensuring that all parties work together seamlessly to achieve the best possible outcomes. In addition, you will engage with a diverse range of professionals both within the NHS and in external organisations, building networks of support and expertise.
Your role will involve managing complex, challenging, and at times, highly emotive issues, requiring a high level of empathy, professionalism, and diplomacy. You will be expected to demonstrate resilience and sensitivity when dealing with difficult situations, ensuring that all stakeholders feel supported and valued. Our ideal candidate:
• Educated to Masters level in a relevant discipline or have extensive and developed specialist knowledge and skills to an equivalent standard.
• Previous experience of end-to-end Business As Usual temporary staff desirable, however the successful candidate must be able to use transferable skills in this area.
• Demonstrable project management skills.
• Qualified in Job Evaluation processes.
• Track record of demonstrating innovative solutions to temporary staffing.
• Experience of partnership working.
• Team management skills.
• Well-developed communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Advanced IT and keyboard skills.
• Possess resilience to deal with any distressing and emotional demands of the role.
• Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
• Eligible to live and work in the UK.
Interviews to be held Face to Face week commencing 10th February 2025 at Trust Head Office, Howard Court, Welwyn Garden City. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to present on the following:
"What do you understand are the most significant challenges HCT is facing in the arena of Temporary Staffing?" You will have 10 minutes to present. The presentation will be followed by a competency based interview.
