Veterinary Receptionist - Seadown Totton

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Seadown Totton Surgery.
This role is mainly based at our Totton branch, where there will only be one Receptionist on shift at a time.
There is a requirement to support/assist the Vet with animal handling; e.g. for blood samples, vaccines and euthanasia appointments etc.
Hours: 17.17 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
1. Tuesday - 13:00-18:30 - 5.5 hours at Totton
2. Thursday - 08:30-14:00 - 5.5 hours at Hythe
3. Friday - 13:15-18:15 - 5 hours at Totton
4. Saturday - 08:30-12:00 - on a rolling 1 in 3-week basis at Totton

About the role:
This Receptionist position provides the below opportunities to be more hands on and involved with the patients;
5. Aiding/assisting clients with weighing their animals
6. Assisting the Vet in some consults with animal handling
7. With Totton being a small branch practice, with one consulting room, it can often mean that the team get to know clients (and patients) better
Further day-to-day duties of the role will include:
8. Answering phones and booking appointments
9. Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
10. Registering new clients
11. Completing insurance forms
12. Dispensing medications
13. Taking payments
14. And most importantly; providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice
What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:
15. Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
16. Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
17. An excellent communicator with strong empathy
18. Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
19. A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
20. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
