The Role
As a Software Assurance Consultant, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary supporting Software delivery across multiple projects as part of a team that provides Independent Technical Assessment of the software of safety critical/related aircraft systems.
This is an exciting role where you will be carrying out Independent Technical Evaluation on aircraft focusing on the safety of the software.
Day-to-day, you will:
1. Populate Software safety arguments under a goal structure establishing that a baseline exits for the Software under review
2. Establish that the Software is targeted to be developed to a known Software standard
3. Establish that process has been followed and the Software development and verification process is established and meeting the correct standards
4. Evaluate any changes down to the source code level which is written in SPARK Ada and the review of the associated Spark Analysis
5. Provide assessment in a format suitable to the project and interface with QinetiQ Systems and Safety Subject Matter Experts
This role is a full-time position based at either one of our sites listed above and hybrid working is available.
Essential experience of the Senior Software Assurance Consultant:
6. Strong knowledge of aircraft Software development and of the recognised Software development standards
7. Extensive experience of Safety Critical Software development and safety engineering concepts
8. Experience working as a Software technical assessor or extensive experience working as a software engineer in a Safety Critical environment
9. Strong communication skills
Qualifications for the Senior Software Assurance Consultant:
10. A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) or relevant technical experience
