We have an opportunity for a Scheme Manager
- Homeownership to join our team based in Birmingham, ensuring that all housing for older people properties are managed and maintained in accordance with government legislation.
You will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service which will include providing tenancy advice, following up communal repairs and promoting independent living. This is a rewarding yet challenging role and is ideal for someone who has previous experience of working with older people in a housing management setting and is aware of safeguarding concerns.
The role of Scheme Manager
- Homeownership will include:
- Providing tenancy advice to residents
- Promoting independent living and sign posting to appropriate agencies
- Encouraging residents to organise and get involved in activities
- Completing mandatory compliance tasks along with health and safety checks
- Reporting and monitoring repairs to conclusion, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
- Wellbeing calls to residents via warden call system
- Supporting the lettings team to manage vacant flats
- Providing cover at schemes in the region for other Scheme Managers
- Managing low level anti-social behavior
Skills and experiences:
- Numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
- Some experience of working with older people and understanding their individual needs or similar
- Ability to work alone and manage workloads to meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of handling confidential and sensitive information
- Good interpersonal and customer care skills
- Experience of using housing management software
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
