We have an exciting opportunity for Sonographers to join our very friendly and dedicated multidisciplinary team at UHBW.
Our busy and dynamic departments are responsible for the delivery of a wide case mix including Obstetric, General Abdominal, Gynaecology, Small Parts, and Musculoskeletal examinations. Applications from sonographers with skills in any of the above areas are welcome.
We invite applicants who are either newly qualified or experienced Sonographers looking to develop their skills further.
Candidates must hold a CASE accredited PgCert / Dip / MSc or DMU qualification in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent.
Fulltime and part time positions are advertised, and flexible working arrangements are available and open for discussion.
The post holder will work across UHBW sites working alongside a supportive and diverse team to deliver ultrasound services across a wide range of specialties to support patients within obstetric care, emergency / acute care, and referred through secondary care.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include (but will not be limited to):
1. Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
2. Provide diagnostic report of examinations according to the level of authorisation agreed.
3. Participate in service provision across all of the Trust's hospitals.
4. Communicate and liaise with patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Have extensive experience in the ultrasound areas mentioned above.
2. Have previous NHS experience.
3. Hold post graduate qualifications in Obstetric, Gynaecological Ultrasound and/or General Abdominal Ultrasound.
4. Demonstrate a commitment to maintain the highest standards of imaging and service delivery.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
1. BSc (Hons) Radiography or equivalent
2. Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or PG Certificate / Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound from a CASE approved University or equivalent
3. Registration - HCPC or equivalent professional body
Knowledge and Experience
1. Comprehensive and extensive knowledge and experience in ultrasound modality
2. Achieve agreed level of competency in independent reporting
3. Act independently and manage own workload on a day to day basis
4. Able to instruct and supervise others
5. Previous NHS experience
