We have a great opportunity at HMP Hewell to join the education team as our Local Education Manager on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours a week.
As Education Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day running, management, and co-ordination of the service within an establishment, working directly with the prison Governor and education lead. You will drive excellence in teaching and learning by co-ordinating effective quality assurance and ensuring strategic, cohesive, and sequential working with other services, providers, and organisations within the prison.
What we need from you
To be successful in the role of Education Manager, you will be required to:
* Manage and coordinate education within the prison, working closely with the prison governor and leadership team.
* Ensure that the quality of delivery is maintained, with accountability for driving excellence in teaching and learning.
* Be responsible for strategic, cohesive, and sequential working with other services, providers, and organisations.
* Deliver contract within budget for resourcing, accreditation, and consumables.
* Lead on the delivery of the curriculum within the prison.
* Manage any inspections, including OFSTED.
* Work closely with the Contract Lot Manager to respond to change and tailor needs to the specific prison.
* Manage resources as defined within the Delivery Plan.
* Develop a CPD plan for the establishment in conjunction with the Contract Lot Manager.
* Lead and manage the team within the site, with direct responsibility for the Hub Managers and administrative colleagues.
* Share responsibility with the Contract Lot Manager for the allocated budget for the site.
Essential Qualifications required:
* Degree or equivalent
* Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
* Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
Desirable
* Leadership and management qualification at Level 4 or above
