GBB is a proactive safety company focusing on compliance with a range of products for both the distribution and end-user markets.
We have 2 divisions:
1. BearTOOLS, which manufactures and supplies a range of preventative tool lanyards, lockout tagout, and spill control products.
2. BearSafety, offering a full range of safety lighting for use in production and industrial facilities across the UK to reduce accidents and near misses in warehouses and on production sites.
THE SPACE
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and versatile individual to work closely with our CEO, acting as their trusted right-hand and helping drive the strategic vision and operational success of the company. This dynamic role requires a strategic thinker, hands-on problem solver, and someone with a passion for business growth and efficiency. You will be integral in managing executive tasks, streamlining operations, and supporting the CEO in day-to-day decision-making and long-term planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the primary support and confidant to the CEO, enabling them to focus on high-level strategy while you manage the execution of daily operational tasks.
2. Act as a strategic partner by contributing to key business decisions, helping to develop, implement, and track progress on strategic initiatives.
3. Oversee and manage office staff, ensuring the smooth running of business functions.
4. Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure cross-departmental communication and project alignment.
5. Provide executive assistance support, including managing the CEO’s calendar, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
6. Assist in managing key client relationships, contracts, and partnerships to support business growth and client retention.
7. Handle HR-related duties, including onboarding, employee relations, and performance tracking.
8. Oversee financial administration such as invoicing, expense management, and management account preparation using Xero software.
9. Act as a problem solver, addressing operational challenges before they escalate, and devising innovative solutions to improve workflow.
10. Represent the company at key meetings and events as needed, acting on behalf of the CEO when necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization and externally.
2. Proven experience in an administrative or operational role, with a strong track record of supporting senior leadership (experience working as a personal assistant to an executive is a plus).
3. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Office software is highly preferred.
5. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage resources effectively and oversee a team.
6. Creative problem solver with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proven ability to drive initiatives forward and influence business decisions.
