Syos is a pioneering aerospace and technology company at the forefront of utilitarian autonomous vehicles, across air, land and sea. We specialise in the development of cutting-edge unmanned vehicles and are expanding our product range across UK and Europe. We are looking for experienced, highly skilled and passionate Business Development Managers to join our rapidly expanding team.
The role:
You will be responsible for managing and directing business development activities for the range of Syos vehicles, including UAV, USV and UGV. You will manage a team of BDMs and be responsible to drive forwards the business with creative ideas.
The role is full time, based in Fareham, UK, with extensive travel through the UK and Europe.
Job Responsibilities:
* Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in UAV, USV, and UGV markets.
* Develop and execute a business development strategy for expanding market presence in your region/s.
* Identify tender/contract frameworks within key markets and coordinate joining.
* Manage the search, review and bid writing of RFPs and RFIs.
* Identify and establish relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
* Lead sales efforts, drive revenue growth, and manage the sales pipeline.
* Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to align customer needs with product development.
* Promote Syos Aerospace’s products through presentations, proposals, and industry events.
* Negotiate contracts and manage partnership agreements.
* Ensure compliance with regulations and manage risks associated with business opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
* 3-4 years proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles in the aerospace or defense industry.
* Strong understanding of unmanned vehicles technology and market dynamics.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic business plans.
* Experience in managing sales pipelines, achieving revenue targets, and driving growth.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and partner negotiations.
