What we are looking for:
We seek a professional and experienced QA Auditor to ensure compliance and drive improvements across all site processes and products, supporting the production of safe and legal products. The role involves maintaining and enhancing site technical standards set internally, by Hilton Food Group, and our retail partners, while promoting a quality culture across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Deputise for the QA Supervisor during their absence.
2. Mentor and support the training of key production staff in food safety procedures.
3. Drive food safety and GMP standards across both low and high-risk areas (ER2 only), supporting the Listeria management plan.
4. Manage setup and programming of MDs, X-rays (if applicable), and checkweighers for new and existing products, ensuring optimal settings.
5. Support investigations and data collection for internal incidents to facilitate robust risk assessments and preventative measures.
6. Assist in coding, label management, and verification processes, promptly highlighting issues and implementing additional controls to ensure accuracy.
7. Conduct cross-checks of production paperwork and CCP records, identifying and sharing deviations and training issues across shifts.
8. Perform 'value-adding' GMP, hygiene, and compliance audits to demonstrate adherence and foster continuous improvement, with clear communication of results and action plans.
9. Conduct CCP audits, sharing findings in DRM meetings to promote transparency and corrective actions.
10. Support updating and approving internal specifications as part of the NPD process, ensuring thorough investigation of issues to root cause for continuous improvement.
11. Ensure compliance with factory and product sampling plans, collecting and logging samples (including water and swabs) accurately.
12. Assist in updating production and technical documentation.
13. Participate in site taste panels and support their operation during absences.
14. Contribute to shift handover logs, capturing learnings and issues for team awareness.
Required experience and expertise:
* QA experience in a fast-moving chilled environment.
* Knowledge of retailer codes of practice.
* Experience in implementing and improving QA systems.
