We are excited to be hiring for a Systems Engineer. This position is contract to hire.
Job Summary:
Systems Engineers in this role are pivotal in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network servers, data storage equipment, and mobile computing devices, tailored to meet the specific requirements of Technology Infrastructure and Business Application projects. They troubleshoot and resolve operating system, application, and hardware connectivity and integration issues, ensuring seamless client access to servers and mobile computing applications. Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, they contribute to maintaining and enhancing the technological backbone of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate and recommend resolutions for current hardware and software configuration issues.
2. Lead the development of software and hardware configuration, deployment, and administration procedures.
3. Establish client access to networks, ensuring individual security access based on predefined guidelines, and address basic connectivity problems.
4. Identify, diagnose, and resolve user network, telecommunications, and other software and hardware issues, including production halts and network malfunctions.
5. Install, configure, and customize a variety of network and other hardware and software systems across all locations.
6. Manage, design, and maintain websites and intranets, including web filter and user profiles to monitor and limit web access.
7. Evaluate networks and recommend improvements, researching and recommending new hardware and software.
8. Develop and test required hardware, operating system, and application configuration requirements.
9. Write procedures and work instructions for both the IT Department and end users.
10. Monitor ongoing network performance and maintain records of system activities.

11. Proficiency in desktop operating systems and affiliated software components, services, protocols, and technologies.
12. Familiarity with virtual server environments, mobile devices, and website design.
13. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

15. Capability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
16. Understanding of department policies, practices, and procedures, as well as security standards and procedures.

19. Utilize in-person and electronic means to interactively diagnose and resolve issues.
20. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows / and Google Android ecosystems.
21. Skilled in building images for, deploying, and managing laptops (Dell), tablets (Samsung), and cell phones (Samsung).
22. Familiarity with Microsoft /Azure and Cisco product ecosystems.
23. Ability to configure, monitor, and maintain both physical and virtual network servers.
24. Perform user account maintenance within Microsoft and hybrid Active Directory/Azure Active Directory management consoles.
25. Willingness to travel to other sites to perform IT Department related tasks.
26. Apply industry best practices in IT processes and handling confidential information.
27. Interact with outside vendors and contractors, monitor case progress, and escalate as needed, managing the relationship through full case completion.
28. Be available and responsive during non-traditional work times when called upon.
29. Ensure all owned tasks are fully completed to the requester's satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
30. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field AND three () years of work experience supporting or maintaining computer systems, through troubleshooting user problems; OR
31. Associate's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field AND four () years of work experience as stated above.
Special Requirements:
32. A valid New York State Class D driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout the appointment to this title.
