Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join the Chief Public Health Nurse Directorate within OHID who have responsibility for providing public health nursing, midwifery and allied health professional specialist clinical expertise and leadership across government and the public health system and lead on clinical health improvement programmes which increase healthy life expectancy and reduce health disparities. The 0-19 Clinical Programmes Unit is focussed on ensuring the 0-19 public health nursing workforce has an impact on outcomes for children and families through the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. We work within the Chief Public Health Nurse Directorate reporting to the Chief Public Health Nurse and to the Chief Nursing Officer for England in NHSE who holds professional leadership for the 0-19 public health nursing workforce. We provide governance and leadership for the Family Nurse Partnership programme in England, an evidence-based, intensive, nurse-led home-visiting programme for young parents. We also support the implementation of effective, sustainable changes to the way 0-19 services work with families, working alongside DHSC colleagues, other government departments, NHS and local government, with a focus on early intervention and prevention, improving outcomes, and reducing health disparities for children, young people and families.
