Serco Employment Skills and Training (EST) offers a comprehensive, place-based employability and skills service that can be tailored to government departments, local areas, employers, and citizens. This role is integral to the EST Delivery Operations, managing all aspects of mobilisation and delivery of Adult Training and Employability programmes while ensuring the safeguarding, development, and wellbeing of learners. As Data, Funding and Systems Manager, you’ll lead compliant funding claims, strong commercial routines, accurate and ‘single version of the truth’ reporting, Serco specific requirements in the FTSE 250 context and the development of data colleagues to continuously improve and evolve the service. You will drive efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of management information and administration to ensure that systems are optimised and that effective processes are consistently followed. You’ll be entrusted to: Manage the EST management information systems and all processes to drive the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness. Manage all aspects of audit readiness to ensure that audit requirements are met and to ensure that all audits are successful. Manage all registry requirements ensuring that learner enrolments are timely and that their systems access meets modern customer expectations. Driving the highest standards of registry processes with regards to accuracy of learner data, attendance records, breaks in learning and all awarding body requirements that include exam entries and certification processes. Lead on the administration of DAS accounts, the National Careers Service Course Directory, and the National Apprenticeship database. Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of the various funding methodologies and provide relevant training to staff as required. Keep abreast of developments relating to MI software and ensure these are accounted for in the planning process. Lead the on-going development of relevant systems, including reports and dashboards, ensuring they meet the needs of customers, and to promote their usage within the business. Liaise with IT staff and external suppliers / contractors and plan effectively to ensure system ‘down-time’ is minimised, and systems’ performance is optimised. Does this sound like you? Proficient in IT, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with exceptional planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities. Skilled at managing workloads, meeting targets and deadlines, and thriving under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Flexible, committed to personal development, and adept at building collaborative relationships internally and externally. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Qualified to NVQ level 4 or above in a business or management discipline. Experience of working in an ESFA or OFSTED governed environment. Experience of working with Data Management systems, preferably in a skills / Further Education setting. Detailed knowledge of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR). Knowledge of FE and Apprenticeship funding streams. Experience of report writing and / or Power BI to provide accurate and timely statistics / reports required both internal and external to the business. Experience of implementing companywide systems.
