This is a non-case holding advanced Social Work position within the practice and development hub. As a Practice Supervisor you will: Accountability and Development : Accountable for quality of practice, setting standards, and creating conditions for successful social work. Undertake medium and long-term practice development projects, identifying practice changes, resource implications, and training required. Management and Audit Responsibilities : Deputise in the absence of the team manager, provide management cover, and undertake audit activity and moderation responsibilities. Quality Assurance and Court Proceedings : Oversee the quality assurance of reports and assessments, including preparation and submissions for Court Proceedings. Take a lead role in preparing less experienced social workers for court. Practice Support and Relationship Building : Provide specific practice support to students and newly qualified social workers. Establish, develop and maintain good working relationships with service users and colleagues. Supervision and Compliance : Supervise individuals, lead on group supervisions, and remain up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation, procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct. Expert Opinion and Professional Development : Provide expert opinion within the organisation, work in partnership with other agencies and organisations, participate continuously in professional development opportunities, and act in accordance with the priorities and policies of the Department As a Practice Supervisor, you are required to: Hold a Social Work England registration. Be eligible to work in the UK. Hold a full UK licence. Social Work Qualification, degree or equivalent. At least 2 years’ experience as a social worker within children’s services.
