TXM Recruit are supporting a business in the rail industry who are going through significant growth due to the mobilisation of overhaul projects. We are recruiting for a Heavy Maintenance Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the successful mobilisation, deployment, and commercial delivery of our heavy maintenance projects.
What You Will Be Doing
* Develop effective internal and external working relationships that deliver all key elements of Heavy Maintenance contracts.
* Ensure all work undertaken is in line with customer, technical and legislative standards and specifications.
* Ensure all work undertaken is done so in a timely manner and to a high standard, in line with customer expectations.
* Establish safe systems of work in accordance with relevant customer, business or legislative standards.
* Recruitment and development of appropriately skilled teams to deliver specific work packages.
* Recruitment and development of Project Managers, Engineers, and Planners to support projects.
* Provision of regular management information and Key Performance Indicators that report on key project deliverables.
* Undertake and complete annual Performance Development Reviews with direct reports, in a timely manner.
* Support the bid team as required with input to support potential new work opportunities and contracts.
* Lead the mobilization for new projects, including development of deliverables such as resource plans, work breakdown structures, tooling requirements, risk register, Bill of Material(s), Specification Review – all in accordance with company Heavy Maintenance Mobilization procedure.
* Deliver and maintain excellent standards of housekeeping.
* Manage customer interfaces including leading Contract Review Meetings.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of LEAN techniques and processes.
* Develop internal systems, processes, procedures and reporting mechanisms providing clear control.
* Deliver pro-active customer management identifying and developing possible opportunities for maximizing revenues and cost savings.
What do you need to apply?
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
* Previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities.
* Understanding of depot operations.
* Previous project management experience.
