Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join dynamic NHS team. This is a 7 Programmed Activities (PA) position, with all duties allocated to Direct Clinical Care (DCC).
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality ward cover for respiratory inpatients, ensuring exceptional patient care and timely management of cases.
* Conduct occasional outpatient clinics as required, offering specialist advice and care to respiratory patients.
* Triage referrals and manage acute respiratory cases effectively, liaising with multidisciplinary teams as necessary.
* Collaborate with colleagues to maintain excellent clinical standards and support service delivery.
Skills
* Clinical Expertise: Extensive experience in respiratory medicine, including the management of acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
* Ward Management: Proven ability to oversee and deliver high-quality inpatient care.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Decision-Making: Strong clinical judgment and the ability to triage effectively, prioritising patient needs.
* Adaptability: Capacity to manage occasional outpatient clinics and respond to changing service demands.
* NHS Experience: Familiarity with NHS systems, protocols, and standards, ensuring seamless integration into the role.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the department’s goals.
