Specialty Doctor - Cellular Pathology (Specialty Doctor - Histopathology)

We are currently seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor Histopathologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be a well-motivated individual looking to develop and extend their skills.
We can offer a place in a large dynamic service that is the Greater Manchester centre for neuropathology and Upper GI surgery. Our repertoire includes dermatopathology, neuropathology, renal, GI, gynae, head and neck, breast, and urology pathology. We provide onsite assessment of renal and non-gynae samples at our Salford site. We have a histochemistry and immunofluorescence service. The departments are both UKAS accredited. We handle over 98,000 histology and 7,000 diagnostic cytology specimens a year for our hospitals and GPs.
Active participation in CPD and opportunities for further study are encouraged and where possible supported. The department is committed to developing its staff.
The successful candidate will be expected to be involved with all aspects of the routine histology service and be the key trainer for the trainee Biomedical dissectors. Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and confidence with IT programmes is essential.
