Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the effective running of our children’s residential home, providing a safe, caring environment where young people can thrive and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the welfare and development of young people, ensuring adherence to Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
* Supervise and support staff to maintain high standards of care and professional practice.
* Lead on staff training, appraisals, and development plans to enhance team performance.
* Support the implementation of individual care plans and collaborate with external professionals, including social workers and schools.
* Ensure accurate record-keeping, attend care reviews, and make necessary referrals to external agencies.
* Monitor and maintain the home’s environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
* Play an active role in recruitment, induction, and staff management to ensure optimal staffing levels.
What We’re Looking For:
* Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards it).
* Proven experience in children’s residential care with strong leadership skills.
* A sound understanding of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
