Locations: Edinburgh & the Lothians / Ayrshire
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Circa £47,000- £50,000 (dependent on qualifications & experience)
Reporting To: Senior Management Team
Are you a compassionate and experienced leader in residential childcare? As the Registered Manager, you’ll lead a committed team to deliver high-quality, nurturing residential care for children.
This role is integral to creating a safe, supportive environment that enables vulnerable children to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential service, ensuring high standards in line with core values and regulatory requirements.
* Child-Centered Care: Foster a nurturing atmosphere where children feel secure and supported.
* Team Development: Lead, train, and motivate a multidisciplinary team, supporting their growth and development.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all care practices meet SSSC standards and national child protection guidelines.
* Risk & Care Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of individual care and risk assessment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Essential: A qualification meeting SSSC standards for registered managers in residential childcare- SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 9 & Any award in management that is certificated at or above SCQF Level 8 (min 60 credits) and mapped against the National Occupational Standards: Leadership and Management for Care Services SCQF 10.
* Experience: Proven experience in a senior role within residential childcare, working with children who have additional support needs/ complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
* Leadership: Strong background in managing and inspiring a team in a care setting.
* Knowledge: Thorough understanding of child development, childcare legislation, and a commitment to promoting children’s rights.
* Driving License: Full, clean driving license.
