Cover Supervisor Location: Wirral Pay: £100 - £130 dependent on payroll choice Sector: Independent Special Needs School We are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team at an independent special needs school on the Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to support students in a nurturing environment, helping them reengage with their education, build confidence, and develop vital life skills. About the School: This small provision caters for young people aged 11-14 who have faced disruptions in their education. The school's focus is on rebuilding students' confidence and self-esteem through a multi-agency approach, combining academic support with emotional and therapeutic development. With a capacity for 32 students (currently 12 on roll), the school offers small class sizes (3-5 pupils) and a high staff-to-student ratio. Students also participate in enriching activities like horse riding, team-building, and vocational training in beauty and hairdressing, gaining life skills alongside their academic learning. Your Role as a Cover Supervisor: Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engage in their learning. Provide support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them stay focused and participate in lessons. Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of students' emotional and social skills. Assist in the delivery of lessons and activities as directed by the class teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met. Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment. Assist students with vocational activities and life skills lessons as needed. What We're Looking For: Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or support role. Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to support students with additional needs. Confidence in supervising small groups of students and helping them stay focused. A proactive attitude and flexibility to adapt to different learning environments.
