Job summary LOCUM CONSULTANT PAEDIATRIC ANAESTHETISTS Up to three posts Fixed term for 6 months Start date early 2025 Interviews planned for March 2025 Applications are invited for the position of locum consultant paediatric anaesthetist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The post is for a fully trained paediatric anaesthetist providing specialist paediatric anaesthesia to support all activity except cardiac anaesthesia. The posts is for 10 PAs and have no on-call commitment. The specialty is currently led by Dr Hilary Glaisyer. The department consists of 49 substantive consultants, 3 joint posts with PICU CICU and CATS and 30 post-fellowship registrars and fellows. You will be on the General Medical Council's specialist register for Anaesthetics (CCT or equivalent), or within 6 months of award of CCT by date of interview. You will have completed (or be within 6 months of completion of) a recognised training programme in paediatric anaesthesia and have substantial experience. Main duties of the job As a member of the anaesthetic department you will be expected to deliver specialist paediatric care throughout the perioperative period. This will include the preoperative preparation of patients, their intraoperative care and to ensure a safe postoperative environment.
