As a Teacher of English as a Second Language (ESOL) at our Sixth Form College, you will have the exciting opportunity to develop and implement a dynamic curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our ESOL students while aligning with college standards. Your role will involve providing individualised support to help students improve their English language skills and achieve academic success. You will regularly assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and adapt your teaching methods to ensure every learner's needs are met. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and achievement.
The Languages Department is in the state-of-the-art classrooms based in our new build. The college currently offers successful GCSE and A levels in both English Language and English Literature as separate specialist subjects. The Department engages in a wide variety of enrichment activities, encouraging students to enter 'young writers’ competitions, Journalism Internship, Book Club and the Feminist Society. We have invaluable links with English Departments in leading universities and local schools as well as organising guest speakers.
