Job Description

We have the immediate requirement for an experienced Audio-Visual Installation Engineer with hands-on experience of the installation and maintenance of audio-visual systems to join a friendly and passionate team.
Based out of our office in Wellingborough, you will be responsible for completing projects across the UK requiring regular overnight stays and extensive travel.
The work is steady, varied and interesting and as part of a small team you will have a good support network. As well as a generous basic salary, travel expenses will be paid, tools provided, professional training courses available and there is potential for career advancement.
Duties of the AV Installation Engineer include:
* Taking a lead in the installation, testing and commissioning of AV projects.
* Ensuring projects are completed within specified timescales and in line with expected quality standards.
* Completing all commissioning tests and paperwork to verify that each system is deployed and operating correctly, including client 'sign-off' documentation.
* Transporting, assembling, and disassembling AV equipment.
* Using inventory software to manage, co-ordinate and report on stock, materials, cable usage and tool states.
* Ensuring vans are in good working order and stocked with the correct level of consumables.
* Regular reporting and meeting with the Technical Director and other Directors.
* Carrying out efficient maintenance visits in line with customer service agreements, including administration of asset registers.
* Replying to client correspondence and maintaining up-to-date records of all activities through the Company’s CRM, such as logging maintenance reports.
* Contributing to AV documentation such as customer user guides.
* Overseeing and managing warranty replacements, repairs etc. as required.
* Assisting with technical support services and responding in a timely manner to customers requiring emergency assistance (system failure/user error) including remote assistance via the Helpdesk or on site.
* Providing advice, guidance, training, and support to customers.
* Supporting the Sales Team with any pre- or post-sales technical advice and activities, as required.
* Developing and promoting a positive customer service ethic, providing the highest level of customer service to all clients.
* Attending all required professional development initiatives and attaining all relevant qualifications and accreditations required by the Company.
* Cultivating an expert knowledge of all common AV disciplines: audio, visual, lighting, networking, video conferencing and staying up to date with latest trends and best practices.
* Attending regular team meetings and reviews.
* Managing the Junior AV Engineers, as well as assisting with performance reviews and overseeing training requirements.
* Where requested undertaking any other duties that can reasonably be expected to fall within the scope of this role.
* Supporting the organisation and attendance of trade shows.
* Undertaking duties with a full understanding of the Health & Safety implications and ensuring industry standards and safe working practices are always adhered to.
* Assessing potential site risks and hazards and completing site-specific risk assessments and method statements.
* Adhering to company policies and procedures.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings, architectural blueprints, rack elevations and cable schedules.
* At least 5 years industry experience terminating cables, including soldering, crimping, and working with network and antenna cabling.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills and technical fault-finding.
* Firm understanding of processing control, routing, and audio video signal paths.
* Knowledge and correct use of fixings and mounting systems.
* Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
* IT skills: Knowledge of control software such as DANTE.

* Degree level/equivalent experience in a relevant field e.g., sound engineering.
* Conversant with basic networking principles and network infrastructure products.
* Experience of working in places of worship or historic buildings.
Requirements
* Eligible to legally work in the UK
* 5+ years relevant experience in an AV or electrical engineering discipline
