Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Homes

We are hiring TWO passionate and experienced OFSTED Registered Managers to lead our TWO newly acquired children’s residential homes in Leicester. These homes with 2-3 beds will provide vital care for children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
About the Role:
As a Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of your assigned home, including its initial setup and ensuring compliance with OFSTED regulations. You will create and maintain a nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive. Supported by a Service Manager/Responsible Individual, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential while driving the home’s successful establishment and ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
1. Manage the daily operations of the home to ensure safety and effectiveness.
2. Lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality care.
3. Maintain a safe, warm, and child-focused environment.
Regulatory and Compliance
1. Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
2. Lead preparation for Ofsted inspections, aiming for Good or Outstanding outcomes.
3. Keep accurate records in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
Child-Centered Care Planning
1. Develop personalized care plans for each child.
2. Promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being through tailored support.
3. Collaborate with families, schools, and external professionals to ensure holistic care.
Staff Management and Development
1. Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring high standards of practice.
2. Provide regular supervision, appraisals, and professional development opportunities.
3. Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
1. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
2. Proactively identify and manage risks to ensure safety.
3. Report safeguarding concerns in line with legal requirements.
Financial and Resource Management
1. Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
2. Oversee staff schedules, supplies, and equipment.
Requirements
1. Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care.
2. Experience: 2+ years managing children’s residential homes, achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
3. Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
Skills
1. Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and communication abilities.
Other
1. Enhanced DBS check, full UK driving license, and experience setting up children’s homes preferred.
Schedule
Day shift, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime.
Location: Leicester (must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting).
