Field Sales Representative – Construction / HVAC

Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic person to sell a new range of HVAC products for the Residential and Light commercial market. They are a well-established and progressive company based in Chatham, Kent, carrying out installations primarily in residential and light commercial properties within the M25 and home counties.
Hours: 40 hours a week, although the nature of this role demands a very flexible attitude to work times. While this job is mostly fieldwork, you will need to attend the office at least once a week or possibly twice.
In addition to a competitive salary of £60,000 with the opportunity to top this up to £100,000 OTE, they offer the following benefits:

You will be responsible for:
* Developing a full marketing and sales plan to bring their new HVAC products to market
* Converting prospects into successful customers through sales methods such as door-to-door, cold calling, exhibitions, and presentations
* Researching and forecasting sales, developing sales strategies, and methods for evaluating their effectiveness
* Visiting customers regularly and evaluating their needs, turning this information into future marketing material or feedback to management
* Creating sales targets and working to meet them individually and as a team
* Monitoring the organisation’s competitors, their products, and marketing strategies
* Acting as a representative during customer meetings and presentations
* Maintaining customer accounts and records of sales
* Reporting and providing feedback to management using financial data collected
You will be expected to achieve:
* A high conversion rate of enquiries into sales
* Generate £100,000 of converted sales per month in year one, with increasing sales targets for following years
You will need to meet the following standards:
* Always be clean and tidily attired in company-branded attire
* Be timely in all customer interactions and communicative when circumstances challenge your commitments
* Be flexible outside of normal office hours when dealing with customer enquiries
* Be highly professional and ethical at all times

* Good understanding of computers and keeping software systems updated
* Familiarity with cloud-based software such as CRMs
Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position:
* Ability to take new products in the HVAC sector and bring them to market
* Ability to research the potential market and put together a proposal
* Ability to outline a marketing and sales strategy in a timely and professional manner
* Knowledge of converting the outline plan into a detailed sales and marketing strategy to stay within budget
* In-depth knowledge of the residential/light commercial construction sectors
* Ability to work with outsourced marketing teams
* Skill in getting past ‘gatekeepers’ to reach decision-makers for construction projects
* Quality networking skills
* Ability to produce detailed computerized reports and accounting to report to management
