Job Title: General Ledger Assistant Accountant
Location: SAE Institute, Oxford
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (Salary dependent on qualifications & experience)
We are looking for an applicant who would like the opportunity to work as one of our Finance team in Oxford. You will be responsible for processing transactions in the general ledger including month end journals, payroll and tax, as well as be involved with understanding actuals, reconciling the balance sheets and supporting the team in general.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Booking of month end journals, completing month end procedures and reporting.
2. Completing month end reporting packs and providing variance analysis.
3. Reconciling the bank accounts and transactions.
4. Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
5. Booking and processing of tax, payroll payments and intercompany transactions.
6. Reviewing bank cash flow status, reporting internally through balances and cashflow actuals.
7. Reconciliation between student management systems and financial ledger.
8. Facilitating with process improvement and change within the team.
9. Undertaking such other duties and tasks as requested.
Essential Criteria:
1. Studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualification or similar.
2. Proficient in use of technology, databases and office software, i.e. Microsoft Office/ Google, and data management systems. Must be proficient in the use of Excel.
3. Organised, excellent administrative and communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
4. Able to prioritise responsibilities, time-manage appropriately, work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
5. Strong team player who embraces collaborative working and achieves results individually and as part of a team.
6. Professional appearance and demeanour, personable, confident, friendly and approachable.
7. Ability to research issues and present solutions, working independently and utilising initiative.
8. Flexible and adaptable to work as required to meet the needs of the organisation.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience with Sage Intacct
2. A passion for creative media.
