Midlands (Field-Based) | Full UK Driving Licence Required
A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a Technical Sales Engineer to join a leading engineering group specialising in innovative Water and Wastewater treatment solutions.
This is a field-based role focused on the Midlands region — ideally suited to someone located around Coventry or Leicester, with occasional overnight stays as needed. This is a great opportunity for a driven and technically-minded sales professional to work with advanced treatment technologies across construction, manufacturing, and especially the municipal water sector, which is the primary focus for this role.
About the Role
Working closely with clients and internal technical teams, you'll be responsible for developing treatment solutions, generating proposals, and delivering a consultative sales approach.
The role offers a healthy mix of remote work, site visits, and client engagement, requiring around 50% travel within the Midlands region.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Generate and manage technical sales enquiries, conducting site visits and investigations to scope bespoke wastewater treatment solutions.
2. Develop technical and commercial proposals, working alongside in-house experts where necessary.
3. Collaborate with the laboratory team to interpret test results and translate findings into technical reports.
4. Use the CRM system to track opportunities and market trends.
5. Deliver presentations to clients, stakeholders, and industry groups, showcasing equipment capabilities.
6. Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, supporting handover and customer satisfaction.
7. Forecast sales opportunities and contribute to revenue planning.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Previous Sales experience from Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial sectors, any experience within municipal water sector is advantageous.
2. Able to develop an understanding of wastewater treatment processes and regulatory requirements.
3. Previous experience in a technical sales or applications engineering role.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to a range of audiences.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
6. Technical or Engineering related qualification in a relevant field such as Chemical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or equivalent Technical Sales experience.
7. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Midlands, including occasional overnight stays.
