2. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
3. Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and support plans tailored to individual students' needs.
4. Help to manage and de-escalate situations where students display challenging behaviour, applying techniques learned from previous law enforcement roles.
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and senior leaders to ensure students receive appropriate interventions and support.
6. Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to relevant staff and supporting ongoing improvements.
7. Assist in the supervision of students in the inclusion room or during breaks, ensuring a calm and structured environment.
Key Requirements:
1. Previous experience in law enforcement, such as working as a police officer or community support officer, is highly desirable.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young people.
3. Experience in de-escalating conflict and maintaining authority in challenging situations.
4. A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working with students who display challenging behaviour.
5. An understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all students.
6. A team player with a proactive approach, able to work effectively with colleagues to implement behaviour support strategies.
7. While experience working in education is desirable, those looking to transition from law enforcement to a school environment are encouraged to apply.
Why Join Us?
1. Make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people, particularly those who need the most support.
2. Full support from a dedicated and experienced team within the school and Teaching Personnel.
3. Opportunities for professional development, including training in behaviour management and safeguarding.
4. Competitive daily pay rates.
5. Potential for permanent employment after successful probationary period.
