Job summary Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a substantive Specialty Grade Anaesthetist working across the trust at Wansbeck General Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital and The Northumbria Hospital on a full-time basis. The candidate should have at least three years experience in UK anaesthesia, of which at least 1 year should include obstetric anaesthesia. They will need to have passed the appropriate obstetric competencies as detailed by the RCoA, as the successful candidate will be required to cover labour ward when on call. Previous experience in out of hours on-call in Intensive Care Medicine call is also essential. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work a resident 8 person full shift system alongside the other trainees in the department and contribute 5 sessions per week. Oncalls will be divided between the obstetric rota and the ICU rota. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their special interest to complement the other members of the department and will participate in the provision of Anaesthetic services at all the main hospital sites.
