An exciting opportunity to come and join a dynamic and supportive team, leading Specialist Children's Services across Bexley and Greenwich.
As Service Manager, you will be part of the Directorate Management team, working closely with the senior operational and clinical teams and external stakeholders, to operationally manage and develop a diverse portfolio of services. You will be responsible for providing strong and visible leadership across the boroughs of Bexley and Greenwich.

This role comes with on-call responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
1. Through effective leadership and management, to ensure the safe, efficient, responsive and effective delivery of Specialist Children’s Services - providing high quality specialist health services to service users, their families and professionals across Bexley and Greenwich.
2. To ensure that services are delivered in accordance with national and local policies, priorities and regulatory frameworks and meet all performance targets.
3. To ensure that reporting requirements to commissioners are met.
4. To develop and implement strategies and priorities as relevant and operate as a key management lead across for the Operational Management and Specialist Leadership Teams.
5. To act as a system leader in the provision of effective and responsive specialist health services to service users and their families across Bexley and Greenwich, working in partnership with external organisations.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. To provide leadership and management oversight for Specialist Children’s Services ensuring excellent standards of care and treatment and performance.
2. To take a lead role in developing and delivering DMT strategies, Specialist Children’s strategies and plans.
3. To develop quality work plans, providing direction and co-ordination in conjunction with professional and management leaders in shaping and implementing current and future provision and quality of services.
4. To work in partnership with clinical leaders, to maintain a culture within the service of excellence in clinical standards and safety.
5. In liaison with the Associate Director of Specialist Children’s, to take a lead role in the development of Specialist Children’s Services.
6. To deliver services within the framework of the business, financial and annual plans of the CYP Directorate and the Trust.
7. To ensure Specialist Children’s Services’ staff engagement in Quality Improvement and other service developments.
8. In liaison with the Associate Director and other members of the Senior Management Team, to lead and support the development agenda on new service designs and business opportunities, including the preparation and writing of business cases and bids.
9. The post holder will provide effective leadership and project management input to implement national, trust-wide and local change programmes in relation to Specialist Children’s Services. This includes service development, planning and the mobilisation of new services based on local needs.
10. To deputise for the Associate Director as required.
11. Operate as a system leader the multi-agency network of children’s services, to influence systems and ensure services are delivered as part of integrated systems to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for those in our care.
12. Manage relationships with external organisations including health commissioners, local authorities, partner agencies and service user groups, acting as an ambassador for Specialist Children’s Services and the Trust, building the reputation of the trust and seeking to influence.
