We are looking to recruit a Depot Manager to manage all areas and aspects of a busy Powered Access depot in West Thurrock. Reporting into the Lead Depot Manager, you will proactively manage the team of drivers and drive the business forward whilst working closely with our team in our Head office in Manchester.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?
* Responsible for planning all routes for deliveries and collections across London & South East
* Updating driver job tablets with correct routes daily
* Ensuring that all aspects of work and process are carried out in-line with Health and Safety guidelines
* Working closely with the Depot Manager in the North
* Working closely with our Nationwide Engineering team
* Reporting into the Lead Depot Manager
* Thinking commercially
* Effective co-ordination of the whole site including the most efficient use of transport resources.
* Coaching and providing feedback to depot employees and ensuring that all training and development needs are met
* Ensuring effective communication across depot's employees including arranging one to one’s monthly
* Ensuring that the quality of customer care/service and products provided reflect the highest levels of excellence
* Liaising with the Sales team and assisting in the management of customer accounts on a regular basis
* Ensuring that the depot is consistently presented to a high level to promote a professional image to the customer
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge across the depot and ability to demonstrate safe use of kit
* Conduct additional ad hoc duties as may be required
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Knowledge of routing London & South East
* Computer literate, Microsoft Office, ability to pick up our internal hire system used company wide
* Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to strict deadlines
* Excellent understanding and experience of managing Health and Safety practices at work
* Ability to understand and work with P&L accounts and budgets
* Ability to demonstrate commercial acumen
* Capability to take ownership and responsibility
* Ability to adapt to individual and operational change in a diverse and fast-paced organisation
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of logistics, operations and sales
* High level of integrity
* Ability to motivate and manage a large team
