Vision for Education are working closely with a Primary School in Ashford who currently has a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The school is looking for someone who has experience working with children, ideally in a school setting, with a positive and patient approach and great communication skills. This is a full-time role and is due to start in January 2025.
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to succeed and thrive in a positive and inclusive environment. You will provide tailored support to individual children or small groups, helping to facilitate their learning and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and progressing.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with additional learning needs.
* Assist in the development and delivery of differentiated learning resources and activities.
* Help students with personal care, social skills, and emotional regulation where required.
* Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
* Promote an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
What We Are Looking For:
* Experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting (although relevant experience in other settings will also be considered).
* A positive, patient, and flexible approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and staff.
* A commitment to supporting the inclusion and wellbeing of all students.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or a willingness to work towards one is desirable.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
