About the role

This opportunity is for a Volunteer Activity Lead to support with our Barnstaple Flourish Café. Based at our North Devon Hub for Together Drug and Alcohol Services, you will be helping to make people feel at ease, encourage social connection through conversation, signpost to other local activities and facilitate focussed activities.
Tasks you might be involved in include:
* Being a friendly face and welcoming those who attend
* Taking a person’s details and connecting them with the relevant member of staff, volunteer or group
* Offering a listening ear and facilitating discussions that bring people together
* Setting up the cafe, keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy, and packing away following each session
* Making hot drinks and preparing basic food, such as slices of toast and spreads
* Promoting and signposting activities available across Together and in the wider community
* Record numbers of attendees, noting any particular topics of interest or signpostings made
* Identify and report any concerns or risks to the Duty staff or Duty Manager within the building
* Planning and delivering activities (including helping with writing risk assessments) – these could be creative based arts and craft, board games, music based, or other skills and interests that you bring with you.
