SALARY: £25,883 per annum 32% Shift Allowance (£8,283) Benefits (see below) LOCATION: Mobberley, Cheshire, North West England JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 12 hour shifts-48 hours per 8-day pattern, averaging 42 hours over 52 weeks JOB OVERVIEW This is a great opportunity for a Security Guard / Officer who understands that the security team are the first point of contact for visitors and staff. On a typical day, there is a lot of activity. Based in the Security Gatehouse, as the site’s custodian, you’ll greet all types of visitors, ensuring they’re registered. You’ll liaise with personnel, verbally communicate Health and Safety instructions and will make sure they know where to go and who to meet. This will involve completing forms, updating information on the computer and making/receiving phone calls and emails. Working as a Security Guard / Officer you will have real time access to external CCTV, and you’ll use this as well as night and weekend patrols using a company vehicle to ensure you are vigilant to security, safety and plant issues and will address them immediately or escalate appropriately. Once your training has been completed, you’ll be a lone worker, and you’ll self-manage to ensure all your tasks and duties are completed and will be the out of hours main contact for the site. DUTIES Your duties as a Security Guard will include: Provide a visible presence enforcing site safety and security Secure premises and buildings during normal business and non-business hours Monitor critical manufacturing systems, building and the site’s grounds during normal and non-operational hours Complete preventative maintenance inspections of critical plant and equipment during non-operational hours Complete scheduled testing of surveillance equipment in accordance with the company’s policies for testing systems and equipment Monitor, record and control site access by screening all incoming traffic, permitting access for legitimate business reasons only Coordinate out of hours engineering activity in response to plant surveillance alarms and preventative maintenance inspections Produce written reports of daily activities, observations and incidents Respond to requests for first aid assistance Receive and direct telephone calls during business and non-business hours Undertake all activities in line with Company Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures and participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS GCSE in English and Maths (grade 4 or above) or equivalent Several years proven work experience in industry, security, manufacturing operations and operational sites Keen observational skills with the ability to identify hazardous situations An appreciation of Health and Safety standards within industry A polite and hospitable demeanour with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Able to adopt a flexible approach to company requests within your level of responsibility, skill set, training and knowledge Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual Basic computer skills- responding to emails and completing logs Fit enough to complete out of hours site patrols Be comfortable and able to commit to a shift pattern that includes days and nights BENEFITS Shifts are 12 hours and 2 days on nights (6pm), 2 days on days (6am) and 4 days off 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays Additional day off to attend annual Fun Day Buy up to a week of annual leave Death in service benefit (4x your annual salary) Discounts on company’s full product range Parking on secure site car park HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
