Product Marketing Manager
Location:
Corby, ENG, GB, NN17 9FH
Brand: RS
Function: Marketing
Work Location: Hybrid
Within our markets there is a core requirement to activate product promotional activity to drive trading and support our category growth strategy. We also have the opportunity to engage with locally significant product manufacturers and suppliers and agree supplier funded marketing activity.
Our goal, and that of this role, is to deliver a programme of relevant, impactful product promotional activities that support the growth of our locally defined strategic growth categories, create a marketing touch rhythm with marketing owned accounts (Standard and Key non-portfolio), and maximise our opportunity to cost-effectively secure marketing funding contribution from our supplier partners.
The purpose of this role is to deliver product led promotional programmes that support our annual defined ‘growth’ product categories, combined with the execution of a comprehensive supplier marketing activity programme which aims to secure funding contribution against an annual defined funding target.
What you will be doing:
As the Marketing Lead, you will support the Senior Marketing Manager to develop, deploy and execute a promotional marketing and supplier marketing plan and budget and own the schedule and delivery of supplier marketing activities E2E.
You will work closely with the UK & Ireland Product & Supplier Management (P&SM) team to secure funding from suppliers and manufacturers against a jointly P&SM and Marketing owned annual target of circa £2.0m and act as the local marketing product and brand subject matter expert, while working with suppliers to ensure execution of agreed product marketing activities.
Work with both UK&I and EMEA channel owners to execute product marketing activities and provide oversight of the progress of the supplier marketing plan with key stakeholders, while working closely with both the local marketing analyst and other resources to provide reporting for supplier marketing activity.
What do I need to be successful?
* Broad product marketing experience, with a good awareness of both offline and online marketing channels
* B2B marketing experience is preferred, with an appreciation of business customers and their needs/drivers
* Ability to develop product marketing content that conveys the key benefits of a product range or solution.
* Experience of a larger or multi-national organisation – ideally with matrix working
* Self-starter with a drive to deliver on-time work and manage multiple tasks in parallel.
* An inquisitive or curious mindset, with the desire to really understand ‘the customer’ and their needs.
* Experience of multi-channel marketing programs combining both products and services
* Familiarity with defining target audiences and devising effective marketing programs for those audiences.
* Understanding of the full marketing mix, but channel activation expertise isn’t vital.
* Solid analytical skills preferred but must be comfortable with data and analytics.
* Commercial proficiency – as this role is about maximising product sales.
* Effective communication and influencing skills.
