SITE MANAGER – ENVIRONMENT
WARRINGTON/NORTH WALES
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around the Warrington, Cardiff, Chester or Wrexham area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
As a Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of works ensuring you meet client and company performance expectations.
You will help create a safe working environment and take responsibility for managing sections of work, including supervising site teams and supply chains.
You will plan, control, and monitor project progress, manage work packages in collaboration with the commercial team, and address scope changes effectively. Key tasks include ensuring compliance with design information, temporary works, and quality control; conducting H&S checks and CDM audits; and resolving technical challenges.
You’ll coordinate installations, oversee commissioning and handovers, and implement value engineering solutions. Additionally, you will monitor staff and contractor performance, lead direct reports, and assist the Project Manager with planning, cost forecasting, and reporting.
Your proactive approach will ensure efficient subcontractor deployment and high safety and quality standards, while building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

1. Ability to work safely.
2. Able to manage multiple or larger packages of work.
3. Read & Interpret data, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
4. Highly organised and able to prioritise multiple workloads.
5. Adept at interfacing with site team, subcontractors, designer, and the client.
6. Strong knowledge of CDM 15 and NEC.
7. Commercially Astute.
8. Proven leadership and delegation skills.
9. Advanced problem-solving skills.
10. Will need to be able to understand building services including design principles, method statements, Inspection Test Plans, Risk Assessments, commissioning and handover requirements.
11. Able to communicate with subcontractors, consultants and other team members.
Technical / Professional Qualifications Required:
1. HNC or higher.
2. Relevant CSCS card.
3. Office 365 expertise/CAD.
4. TWC (Desirable).
5. 1st Aid (Desirable).
6. Previous experience working as an Electrical Site Manager ideally with a national contractor.
7. An industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ qualification or equivalent.
8. Hold a valid Site Manager (SMSTS) certificate.
