Environmental Protection Officer
Two posts:
Temporary six – twelve months – part time (22.6 hours week)
Temporary six months – full time (37 hours a week)
Salary Range: £41,511 – 44,711
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council's Environmental Protection Team. You will be responsible for statutory duties related to Statutory Nuisance, Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Environmental Permitting, and planning and licensing consultations. You will manage your own caseload, dealing with complaints, inspections, and enforcement.
The role requires excellent communication skills and a flexible, positive, solution-focused approach to work. A degree in Environmental Health or Environmental Science, or an equivalent qualification, is required, as is extensive experience in the field of Environmental Protection, sufficient to take a technical lead role. The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues across other Council departments and external partner agencies.
We are looking for innovative, enthusiastic, and confident individuals with drive and determination to join our Environmental Protection Team. As a new unitary authority, we are creating a ‘one team’ culture which will be central to our future approach and will build solid foundations to drive service improvement. These roles will be both office and home-based and will eventually involve working across the whole of North Northamptonshire.

* opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge, and potential in a large unitary council.
* generous leave entitlement (27 days, rising to 32 days) and bank holidays, plus the option to buy up to an extra 10 days.
* agile and flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
