Vacancy for Assistant Conservator, Time-Based Media at Tate

This is a new opportunity to work as an assistant time-based media conservator. This role is part of a dedicated project to realize the acquisition of a large gift of artworks to Tate. You will work with the time-based media conservator to deliver the acquisition of new artworks into Tate’s collection.
This role will develop the understanding of individual artworks, their production techniques, and technical requirements, as well as risks for preservation. You will either hold a recognized qualification in conservation or have equivalent relevant experience for working with time-based media artworks. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their skills associated with time-based media artworks and equipment.
You will be responsible for the examination and processing of time-based media artworks, working proactively within a team. This includes documentation of the artworks and equipment. You will also need to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and demonstrate effective organizational, time management, and planning skills.
This position is offered on a Fixed Term until 30th June 2024.
