Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (EYFS) Location: Primary School in Thornton Start Date: 24th February 2025 Agency: Teaching Personnel Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team in a welcoming primary school located in Thornton. This rewarding role will involve providing tailored support to a young learner, helping to foster their academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities: Work 1:1 with a child in the EYFS setting, delivering support based on their specific needs. Assist in the implementation of the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Support the child in accessing the EYFS curriculum, promoting engagement and participation in classroom activities. Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage the child’s progress and confidence. Monitor and record the child’s progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers. Foster a safe and inclusive environment where the child feels valued and supported. Support with personal care needs if required. Requirements: Experience working with young children, particularly in an EYFS setting or similar. Knowledge of the strategies to support children with additional needs. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and families. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
