There are exciting NEW opportunities for permanent Social Workers for the Learning Disability Team in Rotherham.

About our Learning Disability Team
The Learning Disability Team will become a new permanent team to support getting the best outcomes for people with a Learning Disability. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in relation to working with individuals who have a Learning Disability/Autism and to work with the person to achieve their goals/outcomes and promote independence and autonomy using a strength-based, person-centred approach.
The team works collaboratively with other professionals, organisations/providers, carers and families. This team will be pivotal in shaping and driving the learning disability transformation programme forward.
We are passionate about working with individuals who have a Learning Disability/Autism and welcome applications from those who want to improve the lives of Rotherham residents and shape the commissioning of services.
About you
We are looking for qualified and experienced social workers who share our vision and aspirations for people - social workers who want to make a difference.
As our ideal candidate you will:
1. Have knowledge and experience of applying statutory legal frameworks and policies including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Making Safeguarding Personal, and Continuing Healthcare Frameworks.
2. Root your practice in compassion, social work values and theories, understanding the why of what we do in our unique profession, to best promote people’s wellbeing.
3. Be confident in working with situations of varying complexity and be able to make appropriate decisions quickly to support those in crisis, and to ensure people are seen and supported in a timely manner.
4. Know how to work with our partner agencies to help people find solutions to maximise their independence and resilience, enabling people to take positive risks, and lead good lives.
