Chiltern Wood School is an expanding Special School currently supporting over 200 students ranging from ages 3 to 19 years. We are currently based over three sites in the High Wycombe area and this role will work across all 3. The successful candidate will need a full driving licence and access to their own car. Please note there is some flexibility regarding the actual working hours.

Due to the nature of our expanding school, we are actively recruiting a Deputy DSL and Family Support Worker to join our team. The Deputy DSL is responsible for providing support for designated safeguarding and ensuring that pupils’ needs in relation to both safeguarding and well-being are prioritised and embedded within the school’s strategic planning and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting and enhancing the practice of others
2. Managing accurate training records and documentation relating to safeguarding in accordance with school policies
3. Undertaking the role of DDSL and supporting the safeguarding team, through preparation of agendas, minutes, and training records
4. Being an active member of the safeguarding team to provide admin support
5. Working alongside the DSL to ensure policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources, and personnel are in place to promote the welfare and protection of children at Chiltern Wood School and support vulnerable families
About you
The successful candidate will work with the safeguarding team to ensure that full support is in place to promote the welfare and protection of our pupils and vulnerable families. In addition, the Deputy DSL will provide administrative support to the safeguarding team, manage a case load, support and attend meetings, and ensure that all processes comply with school policies. The successful candidate will be computer literate with a good understanding of web-based packages/systems.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of SEN, having worked within a safeguarding and/or medical remit.
