Job Description
The Junior Finance Analyst will assist the Finance Business Partners in delivering effective, efficient, and robust financial management of projects and high-quality support to Budget Holders, Project Leads, and Directors. This role involves providing analytical reports to the Finance Business Partner to help achieve accurate planning and forecasting of business activities.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Assisting with managing the projects finance reporting requirements.
2. Assisting the FBPs to ensure that all external claims, invoicing, and reporting deadlines are met.
3. Maximising relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
4. Producing monthly financial reports to the FBPs for the Budget Holders and Project Leads to agreed deadlines.
5. Providing regular updates to the FBP of specific project-related activities.
6. Monitoring project costs and investigating any adverse variances.
7. Providing analytical support to the FBP to help the Budget Holders and Project Leads achieve accurate planning and forecasting of business activities, revenues, and project costs.
8. Assisting in the external audit of claim submissions.
9. Maintaining the finance project register.
10. Flagging any issues to the FBP in a timely manner.
11. Analysing and reporting on compliance with finance procedures, policies, and updates.
12. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
13. Supporting the Finance team during busy times and providing absence cover if required.
14. Any other tasks that the FBPs may require assistance with.
15. Managing workload efficiently and effectively.
16. Meeting internal and external deadlines.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Junior Finance Analyst will have some basic experience in a finance role, ideally with data and strong Excel skills. This is a junior role within the team, offering lots of opportunities to learn and develop.
