We aim to build wealth and enduring value for individuals, families, and institutions, through active investment management built around our clients, charities, trustees and professional partnersâ future goals and values. \n\n\nThe Programme \nYour experiences and learning are shaped over our 2-year rotational programme.\nAs part of our Apprentice Academy, youâll work across key business areas including Investment Management and Financial Planning as well as enabling functions that could include Human Resources, Marketing, or Tech & Change where youâll be able to apply the learning from your apprenticeship to make valuable contributions whilst exploring various departments and learning where your skills and attributes are best suited. \n\nYouâll learn both technical and professional skills, such as client service management and administration, alongside presentation and networking skills. \n\nWeâll give you comprehensive training and support through not just your apprenticeship, but formal and informal learning experiences. \n\nPlease be aware for apprentices based in Scotland, there will be travel required between Edinburgh and Glasgow offices when spending time with teams on certain placements. Instances when travel is required to an office that is not your contractual base, Rathbones will cover this cost. \n\nAlong with\n\nâ¢\tMentorship to grow your skills, offer career development advice and see other perspectives.\n\nâ¢\tAn emerging talent community, helping you to build your network and relationships across the business, with a âbuddyâ on hand to support along the way. \n\nAt the end of your 2-year contract with us, if youâve enjoyed your time with us and weâre impressed with your attitude and the skills you have developed, you will have the opportunity to apply for available client or non-client facing roles depending on your interests and skill set. \n\n\nThe ideal candidate is organised, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a diverse range of tasks in a dynamic, client-focused environment.\n The Role\n\nA Business Administrator Apprentice provides support to multiple teams within Rathbones as part of various rotational placements, ensuring smooth operations across departments and assisting with a variety of administrative and project-based tasks whilst working towards the Level 3 Business Administrator qualification. \n\n\nOutcomes of the Role\n\nExamples of tasks and projects included in the role holder include but are not limited to: \n\nâ¢\tCoordinate and manage scheduling for meetings, events, and conferences across various teams.\n\nâ¢\tPrepare and distribute meeting agendas, materials, and minutes, ensuring all follow-up actions are tracked and completed.\n\nâ¢\tAssist with document management, including preparing, filing, and organizing client and company documents in compliance with regulatory standards.\n\nâ¢\tAct as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient communication with other departments in the firm, and clients.\nâ¢\tSource and compile data for internal and client reports.\n\nâ¢\tAssist client service teams in gathering client information, preparing account documents, and responding to routine client inquiries.\n\nâ¢\tUpdating of Client Relationship Management systems, ensuring that all client and account information is current and accurate.\n\nâ¢\tIdentify opportunities to improve administrative and operational processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.\n\nâ¢\tProvide backup support to team members as needed, covering essential tasks during absences or peak workload times.\n\n\nSkills Required for the Role:\n\nâ¢\tGeneral awareness of the financial services and investment industry and a keen willingness to learn and progress within the sector. \n\nâ¢\tA âcan doâ attitude and willingness to support the wider team, âmuck inâ and learn from others. \n\nâ¢\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nâ¢\tDetail orientated and organised with strong numerical competency.\n\nâ¢\tConfidence to take initiative, and know when to ask for help. \n\nâ¢\tAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced but supportive environment. \n\nâ¢\tAbility to manage work and study, as you will be expected to complete your level 3 qualification within 18 months. \n\n\nYour Apprenticeship Qualification\n\nYou will study for the Level 3 Business Administrator Qualification via and apprenticeship, tuition for which is provided by BPP. \n\nAs part of the apprenticeship 6 hours of your working week will be dedicated to this learning, with an expectation that study will also take place outside of working hours. \n\nThe apprenticeship will take you up to 18 months to complete. \n\nFor further detail of the content of the qualification please click here. \n\nâ¢\tFive National 5s with grades A-C including English and Maths (Scotland) and;\n\nâ¢\t120 UCAS points or equivalent in any subject such as Scottish Highers or a Foundation Apprenticeship and;\n\nâ¢\tPermanent Right to work in the UK. \n
