What You’ll Be Doing
This role supports R&D, commissioning, operations, ongoing engineering development, and maintenance across all A Healthier Earth sites, with a focus on current and future Pyrolysis sites and upcoming projects.
As the technical lead, you will ensure that sites and projects are designed, maintained, and operated to the highest standards in performance, quality, health and safety, and environmental compliance. This requires a flexible and adaptive approach to both developing and implementing technical modifications and solutions to process challenges. Responsibilities include:
1. Undertake all required work activities (including design, assessments, calculations, modelling, and development of reports/procedures/plans, make technical modifications to a pyrolysis process etc.), ensuring that tasks are prioritised and completed in a timely way to ensure that the project schedules are fully met.
2. To manage all plant related computing and communications equipment, networks, DCS, HMI, PLC; ensuring correct operation, managing appropriate levels of access for staff and contractors, maintaining comprehensive records of modifications.
3. Ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with safe methods of work, using standard operating procedures, correct PPE, and safety assessments, and help develop these safe methods of work where they do not exist.

7. Proven ability to supervise and manage process operations, ensuring safe and efficient performance under all conditions.
8. Deep understanding of the Pyrolysis process and related technologies, including emerging projects.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement technical solutions to process challenges.
10. Experience in leading teams, planning work activities, and monitoring progress.
11. Ability to train and mentor colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and operational skills.
12. Competency in using process models to predict and optimise performance.
13. Familiarity with process and laboratory environments and experience working with relevant safety protocols.
14. Flexibility in work patterns, locations, and reporting structures, adapting to project demands.
15. Willingness to undertake additional training in areas such as compressed gases and CoSHH to ensure safe operations.
